Community Engagement Programming

The Why

Aligning with the TCU Mission Statement, we strive to lead students, faculty, and staff in local, national and global community service collaborations on an organizational and individual basis.

Why We Do It

Community Engagement Programming works to foster social responsibility and lifelong learning through community-based partnerships. We provide meaningful service opportunities that prepare students to be engaged citizens and global leaders working toward impacting communities by enhancing social responsibility, increasing community engagement, and cultivating citizenship skills.

How You Can Do It

Students are invited to participate in structured community service programs such as:

TCU Day of Service

TCU Day of Service is a campus-wide Day of Service that takes place once each semester at TCU. Students, faculty, staff, and alumni meet on campus, then volunteer together at multiple sites around Fort Worth.

Alternative Student Breaks

Alternative Student Breaks is a program that allows students to engage in service opportunities along side other students and staff. Groups travel across the country and partner with local organizations to serve their community.

Read On

Read On is a program where volunteers provide reading support to students struggling in school. This program is through the Fort Worth ISD school system and seeks to achieve the FWTX 100×25 goal to have 100% of third-graders reading on or above grade level by 2025. Click here to sign up!

Go Center

Go Center is a program where TCU students mentor high school kids to provide support navigating their educational and career goals.

Other ongoing service collaborations and events including but not limited:

  • hunger relief
