Hello! My name is Michelle Arechiga and I’m from Hawaiian Gardens, California. I’ll be graduating in the Fall of 2018 as a finance major with an accounting minor. Some of hobbies include watching hockey, cycling, reading, eating, and running. As a Financial Wellness Ambassador, I love learning and sharing useful information with anyone who’s interested in making smarter choices with their money. I know that discussing retirement or mortgages can be seen as irrelevant to a college student, however, I want to demonstrate how useful and stress-free these topics can be. It’s never too early to start thinking about your financial well-being!
My name is Christian Keller and I am biochemistry major and business minor planning to graduate in 2020 from Omaha, NE! Outside of class, I stay busy with Dream Outside the Box, Chemistry Club, Student Foundation, and Club Soccer. Ever since I was a kid, my parents have established smart money habits, such as saving and budgeting, in me. In middle school, my brother and I started our own lawn service company that allowed us to naively explore some aspects of the business world during high school. Now in college, I further understand the importance of maintaining sound financial decisions so I am able to feel confident if unexpected expenses arise or I want to make a spontaneous road trip with my friends. I still have plenty to learn in the financial world, but would love to share what I know!
My name is Johnny Gonzalez and I am a student-veteran here at TCU. I joined the Navy soon after graduating high school in Fort Stockton, Texas and will graduate in TCU’s class of 2020 with a degree in finance and economics. With my passion for financial wellness and for helping others, being a member of TCU’s financial wellness team was the perfect fit. I have a particular interest in budgeting and credit building. Serving for five years, I bring an unorthodox perception to our team, which will better serve the student body of Texas Christian University. If I’m not in the library studying, you will most likely find me at the squat rack in TCU’s Campus Recreation Center.
My name is Esther Pae and I am a Finance major coming from Racine, Wisconsin. I intend to graduate in Fall of 2019 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. I was interested in becoming part of One Million Reasons Financial Wellness team, because I believe that learning how to manage your money is the key to being successful. I have found it hard to find a place to learn these highly valuable life-skills, thus I am excited to be part of a program that educates students about these vital money management topics. Outside of being a Financial Wellness coach, I am also part of the TCU Showgirls Dance Team, Chi Omega sorority, the TCU Transactions and Investment Board, and the college leadership team at Christ Chapel Bible Church.
My name is Josiah Snowden and I am a sophomore from Austin, Texas on the pre-health track studying biology, chemistry, and business. I am involved with Frog Camp, Dream Outside the Box, Kinderfrogs, Frog Shadow, and Chemistry Club. I love all of these activities because they offer unique ways to not only help TCU students, but members of the Fort Worth community as well! In regards to financial wellness, I believe that while college does a great job of preparing students for their career, it typically doesn’t teach us what to do with the money we make! That is why TCU’s Financial Wellness program is so unique. It helps educate students about basic, yet very important, money-related topics such as budgeting and saving. I hope that by being in this program, I can help fellow Horned Frogs live future lives where they do not need to worry about things such as debt and savings, because they were proactive and knowledgeable when managing their finances.
