Travel Camps

In 2020, our camps outside the state of Texas will be in Colorado, a mystery location (within the United States), Alaska, and Prague, Czech Republic. Spaces for travel camps fill quickly once registration opens. Registration is completed on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost for each travel camp is given in the below camp descriptions. There are a limited number of need-based fee waivers available for Travel Camps. You can apply for one of these fee waivers by completing this form. Find out more about each of our Travel Camps below!

Prague

Venture with Frog Camp as we travel to Prague, Czech Republic. We will learn about the city’s rich history and culture as we explore its many sites. This eight day camp will include exploring Prague castle, Charles Bridge, and Old Town Square. Honors students will be given priority registration for this camp. If there are still spaces available after April 27, registration will open for all incoming students. Unlike other Frog Camps, registration for Prague must be done by calling Student Development Services at 817-257-7855 after you have signed up for an orientation session online.

Note: You must first accept an invitation for TCU’s John V Roach Honors College before you will be able to register for Frog Camp Prague.
Cost: $2,900* (includes round-trip transportation between TCU and Prague)

Alaska

This seven day camp includes visiting Denali National Park, white water rafting, seeing Alaskan wildlife and a glacier cruise. Students will get to explore much of what The Last Frontier state has to offer while learning about life in Alaska from interacting with those who live there.

Cost: $2.600* (includes round-trip transportation between TCU and Alaska)

Mystery Destination

This camp is for the adventurous – come with us to a U.S. destination that you will not know until we hand you a plane ticket. We’ll board a plane at DFW and spend five days exploring a fantastic American community with great food, terrific activities, and strong new friendships. We will not reveal the location of the camp to your family members or you until you meet us at the airport in DFW. Previous camp locations include Alaska (2019), Charleston, SC (2018), Rhode Island/Boston (2017), Chicago (2016), Portland/Seattle (2015), and Savannah (2014).

Cost: $1,000* (includes round-trip transportation between DFW and camp location)

 Alpine A & B

Alpine is a wilderness camp held near Gunnison, Colorado. Adventure Experiences, Inc. owns and operates this rural campground, where you will stay in cabins, experience cold weather at night and have few modern conveniences. This five-day experience includes family-style meals, white water rafting, low and high element challenge courses, rock climbing, a sweat lodge, and close-knit firendships that can last throughout your college career. Please note that you will not get cellphone service while you’re at camp and you will have very limited access to electrical outlets – so don’t plan to use your phone as an alarm clock. Campers at Alpine will be using out house facilities and will have the opportunity to shower only once during camp.

Cost: $550* (Camp begins at Colorado Springs Airport, student is responsible for own transportation there)
