1. Does TCU provide transportation to/from local airports?
TCU is accessible via both Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Love Field in Dallas, with DFW being the closest. TCU does not provide transportation to and from airports. The following services are available to and from the airports:

Shuttle Bus Services: Super Shuttle: 800.BLUEVAN (258.3826)

When making transportation arrangements, please remember to make return reservations to the airport following your session, if appropriate.

2. What do I do if need special accommodations at Frog Camp and/or Orientation?
If you are attending an Orientation session and will be participating in a Frog Camp the next day, you have the option to remain in your Orientation accommodations in between programs and do not need to provide any extra information. If you are participating in a Frog Camp and attending an Orientation session the next day, the same applies. Unfortunately, TCU cannot provide special accommodations for housing outside of these situations.  If you are arriving early or staying late please plan to make your own accommodations off campus at a local hotel.  If you have special dietary, physical, medical or other accommodations we should know about, please fill out this form: Special Requests.

3. When does Orientation begin and end?

Check-in for all first year sessions will begin at 9:30 a.m., however, you may be invited or required to come to a meeting on campus beginning as early 8:00 a.m. depending on your involvement in certain programs (these programs will communicate with you directly with information about their meeting times and locations).  You should not plan to leave campus before 5:00 p.m. on day two (during August Sessions you will remain on campus but Orientation will still conclude at 5:00 p.m.) Please consider these times when booking travel. Transfer Orientation begins check-in at 8:00 a.m. and will conclude by 5:00 p.m.

4. When do I register for classes? Do I need to do anything to prepare?
All incoming first-year students will register for their fall courses on day two of their Orientation session. Go here to read how to best prepare for your Orientation session.

6. I can only register two guests for my Orientation session. What if I want to bring more?
TCU can accommodate only two guests (parents/family members) during Orientation. If you have extenuating circumstances that require you to bring additional guests, please contact Student Development Services at 817.257.7855.

7. What do I do if I am having problems registering for Orientation and/or Frog Camp?
You must pay your non-refundable tuition deposit before you can register for Orientation and/or Frog Camp. Please be aware that it can take up to 24 hours for deposits to process. You can register for Orientation and Frog Camp through the myTCU portal (my.tcu.edu). Please make sure you are using the most up-to-date version of your chosen internet browser to avoid potential problems. If problems persist call Student Development Services at 817-257-7855 or email fye@tcu.edu and provide your Student ID number in your email.

8. What if the Orientation session or Frog Camp I want to register for is full?
Each first-year summer Orientation session can accommodate up to 200 students and Frog Camp accommodations depend on the camp. Reservations for these sessions and camps open in early February and reservations takes place on a first-come, first-served basis. If the session or camp that you would like to register for is full, you have the option of being placed on the waitlist.

To be placed on the waitlist, please click on the “signup for waitlist” button for the appropriate session in your My.TCU portal. Please note you may only be on one waitlist at a time. If you would like to change the waitlist you are on please return to your My.TCU portal and clock on “remove from waitlist” beside the appropriate session, proceed to save your choices, then you may return to the registration page to register for another waitlist. Offers will be emailed to your TCU email account and are valid for 48 hours from the time they are extended. In order to be placed on the waitlist, you must be registered for an alternate session.

Because of the nature of the waitlist we cannot notify students when or if there will be an open space in that session. If you need to schedule travel arrangements in advance, please do so based on the session you are currently enrolled in.

10. Are meals provided during Orientation?
Students and guests should eat breakfast before the Welcome session begins at 9:00am. During June sessions, Students and their guests will receive lunch and dinner on day one as well as breakfast and lunch on day two.  During August sessions, students and guests will receive lunch and dinner on day one as well as breakfast on day two. During Transfer sessions and January Orientation, students and guests should eat breakfast before arriving on campus for check-in. Students and guests will receive lunch on day one.

11. If I am planning on participating in Fraternity/Sorority Life do I need to attend a particular session?
All first-year women participating in Panhellenic Sorority Recruitment in August are required to attend Orientation Sessions 1 through 9 and are highly encouraged to attend a June session. Women registering for session 10 will not be able to participate in Panhellenic Sorority Recruitment. All other Greek councils allow participation in any Orientation Session. 12. What if I want to change my major before I attend orientation?

Students may switch into any major before orientation except business, nursing, and strategic communication.   Any change to strategic communication must be done prior to June 1 (students will have to apply to get into the program the following spring semester).  Those interested in nursing must be admitted as a nursing major and will not be allowed to change their major to nursing until they have completed a semester at TCU and earned a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.  Those interested in changing into business should contact Admissions at least 10 business days prior to their orientation session.  Otherwise there will be an opportunity to make major changes (except for business, nursing, and strategic communication) during the orientation.  But you may not be advised by an adviser in your new major.

13. Do I have to register for a session or can I just walk up?

We are not able to accommodate walk-up students. You must register for an open orientation session.  In order to provide the best Orientation experience, space in each session is limited. Any updates or changes to a reservation must be done by the deadline and only if space permits. Walk-up students will not be allowed to enroll in classes at that particular session and must wait until after all Orientation sessions are over to schedule an appointment with the Orientation and Academic Advising staff.
