Parent & Family
Welcome to TCU! As a parent of a new student, you are now part of a wonderful community that we call the Horned Frog Family. We want your son or daughter to have an enriching and successful college experience. That begins with Orientation. At Orientation, you will have an opportunity to learn academic expectations, meet with faculty, staff, and current students, complete many transactional items, and learn about the exciting opportunities that await you as a TCU Parent. Some activities are designed for both student and parents/family members, but many others are designed just for the student or family members.
Reservations: Students can register parents or guests for Orientation when they enroll in Student Orientation through my.tcu.edu. Family information already supplied by students during the application process may already be in the system, but other family members can be added at this time (contact information may also be updated). Students may register up to two family members to attend Orientation. There is no fee to attend Parent & Family Orientation.
Overnight Accommodations: During June Orientation sessions, family and guests have the option to stay in an on-campus residence hall or a nearby hotel. Parents or family members who wish to stay on campus during a June session may do free of charge, but should make reservations when their student is reserving their space for Orientation. There are no overnight accommodations provided on campus during the August or January sessions. During these sessions, students/guests should make arrangements at a local hotel. For a list of nearby hotels, click here.
Changes and Cancellations: If students need to make changes to their Orientation session reservations, including changes to parent and family members attending, the student should make those changes through my.tcu.edu no later than three business days prior the start of the Orientation session.
