TCU Parent & Family Update – A Connected Campus

July 14, 2020

Dear Horned Frogs & Families,

Every day, you make us proud to be part of the Texas Christian University community. Especially during these uncertain times, we have appreciated all the letters of support and insightful questions that you’ve sent our way. Our campus may seem quiet right now, but this summer has been our busiest, as we have worked day and night to reimagine the TCU student experience, given changes caused by the pandemic.

Even though this semester will be different, we have confidence that we have assembled the brightest minds and most dedicated teams to build new experiences that ensure our students stay connected with each other, with their academic goals, and with the TCU spirit.

The Student Experience

With difference comes opportunity, and we invite you to learn more about what Horned Frogs will experience on campus this fall including small group activities, enjoying more outdoor events, and virtual gatherings that bind our community, no matter where we choose to engage. To learn more about the student experience we have planned, watch this short video.

The Academic Experience

We know that the Horned Frog experience shapes ethical and responsible leaders who will solve big problems in a world of uncertainty. Regardless of whether you will be in person, online or a combination of both, we have prepared an outstanding academic experience. We learned a great deal from our online transition last spring, and that’s why this summer our faculty completed training and certification in online teaching through our Koehler Center for Instruction, Innovation & Engagement. Our courses have been completely redesigned for optimized learning and engagement. To hear more about the improvements and innovations we have planned, watch this video.

We are taking every conceivable measure to make sure that your TCU experience is safe and healthy, engaging and connected. If you haven’t yet, please visit our Connected Campus site, and for detailed information on our plans for students, click here.

Finding new ways to expand your world view is really what a college experience is all about. As you prepare to come back to campus, we challenge you to bring an open mind with a sense of adventure and Horned Frog spirit.

There’s no denying that things will be different this fall, but we assure you that even with physical distancing, you’ll never be alone.

You can expect more information in the coming days from various TCU departments to get you prepared for the fall semester. And we will see you soon, in person or online. Until then, stay safe and healthy, Horned Frogs, because there’s so much to look forward to.

Go Frogs!

Sincerely,
