This message was sent to the TCU community this morning.

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

It is with deep sadness that I write to you this morning to inform you of the tragic death of one of our students.  Andrew Walker, sophomore from Westford, Massachusetts, died last evening.  He was an Economics major, former member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and a resident of the GrandMarc community.

This is a time of great sorrow for our campus.  We know that such a tragic loss has a significant effect on our community.  Staff members from the Brown-Lupton Counseling Center, Religious and Spiritual Life, and the Office of Campus Life are working together to provide support to students affected by Andrew’s death. Likewise, members of the faculty and staff are encouraged to connect with the Employee Assistance Program for help in working through their grief or supporting others in doing so.  The contact information for each is included below.

Also attached to this email is some information about dealing with trauma.  Please take care of each other and reach out if you need help.

Thank you to all of those who have offered support to Andrew’s family, friends and those who responded to his death.  Please keep his family close in your thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.

Sincerely,

Kathy Cavins-Tull

Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
