Airport Transportation and other destinations

Two airports serve the DFW area.  The primary airport, DFW Airport, is approximately 25 miles from campus.  Most major airlines service DFW Airport.  In addition, about 35 miles from campus is Dallas Love Field.  Located a few miles northwest of downtown Dallas, Love Field is the home base of Southwest Airlines which operates most of the flights at that location.  Listed below are various transportation options to the airports.

** FrogFriends **

A popular option for students to get to and from the airport is through the friends they make at TCU.  Part of that community experience is students serving their friends by taking them to the airport.

During the Thanksgiving and Winter Break Holidays, the TCU Student Government provides some free shuttles to and from airports.  More information will be available to students closer to each holiday.

There are multiple taxi services in Fort Worth.  Approximate one way fares to/from DFW Airport and Love Field are, respectively, $75 and $90.

Super Shuttle

Super Shuttle is more affordable than a taxi fare. The Shuttle to/from TCU to DFW Airport, each way, is approximately $40 and a reservation is required on the leg from campus to DFW Airport.  For the return trip to campus, a reservation is not required and a van leaves about every 30 minutes from the terminals at DFW Airport.  Super Shuttle to Dallas Love Field begins at $53.  For more information or to make a reservation call 800-BLUE-VAN or go to the website,

While it is possible to access the airports from campus on a combination of buses and shuttles, it requires multiple transfers each way and extra time. To both DFW Airport and Dallas Love Field, from campus, a student may take a bus/taxi/or friend to the Fort Worth T&P rail station in downtown Fort Worth To DFW Airport… From there, the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) travels to the CentrePoint/DFW Airport Station and a Remote South Lot shuttle bus that services the terminals at DFW Airport.  To Dallas Love Field… From there, the TRE travels to the Medical/Market Center Station, which is about two miles from Love Field.  A taxi will be necessary for the last leg from the rail station to Love Field.  For more information, visit

The TRE is also available for students desiring to attend concerts or sporting events at the American Airline Center in downtown Dallas.  The TRE arrives at the center, direct from Fort Worth, and leaves on hour after the event ends.

ZIP Cars

When a student needs transportation to an appointment off-campus, wants to shop, or visit a friend or relative, a Zipcar is available. The student initially joins Zipcar as a member. When he/she needs to access a car, the student may reserve the car, go to the designated location, unlock the car, and drive away.  More information is available at
